IMPERIAL, MO – A 35-year-old man was injured in a rear-end collision on southbound I-55 south of the Imperial Main Street exit (186) on Tuesday afternoon.

According to Missouri State Highway Patrol, Joshua D. Human, 35, was traveling southbound on I-55 in a 2005 Toyota 4Runner when he attempted to avoid a collision with another vehicle and made an unsafe lane change. The front of his Toyota struck the rear of a 2014 Ford Expedition, driven by 31-year-old Erin S. Doyle, around 2:50 p.m.

Human, of Ballwin, was transported to Mercy Hospital South for minor injuries. Doyle, of Barnhart, was not injured in the crash. Both drivers were wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash.

The Toyota sustained extensive damages and the Ford sustained moderate damages.

Investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
