32-year-old driver sustains serious injuries in three-vehicle crash

ST. CHARLES COUNTY, MO – A 32-year-old driver sustained serious injuries in a three-vehicle crash on the south outer 70 on Monday night.

Police report 29-year-old William M. Hodge, of O’Fallon, was traveling east on the south outer 70 in a 2006 Ford Mustang when he swerved to avoid another vehicle. This caused his Ford to travel off the left side of the road and onto the eastbound lanes of I-70.

An unknown vehicle hit the Ford. The driver of this vehicle fled the scene. A semi, driven by 32-year-old Bradley E. Fordham, struck the Ford as well.

Fordham was transported to SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital Lake St. Louis for serious injuries.

Both Hodge and Fordham were wearing seat belts.

The Ford and semi sustained extensive damages.

Investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
