31-year-old woman, three teenagers in southbound I-55 crash

FAIRMONT, IL – A 31-year-old woman and three teenagers were injured in a crash on southbound I-55 early Saturday morning.

According to 5 On Your Side News, a 31-year-old woman was fleeing the Madison Police Department at a traffic stop. She lost control of her Dodge as she was traveling onto southbound I-55 from Illinois 203.

Her vehicle went off the road and struck a concrete median. The impact spun the car and caused it collided with a GMC. Police report the GMC overturned.

Three teenagers, ages 15, 16 and 17, sustained various injuries and were transported to a hospital. The driver of the Dodge also sustained injuries and was transported to a local hospital.

Investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
