3-year-old boy and two others injured in Troy car accident

TROY, MO (LINCOLN COUNTY) – Three people, including a 3-year-old boy, were injured in a crash in Lincoln County on Thursday afternoon, according to a report by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The accident happened at the intersection of Highway 47 and Ridge Road in Troy just before 3 p.m. when a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder, driven by 27-year-old St. Charles woman Kamara A. Merkle, drove into the path of a 2013 Mazda CX9.

The driver of the Mazda, 30-year-old Angela R. Watson, of St. Peters, was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, as was a 3-year-old passenger, a boy also from St. Peters.

Another passenger in the Mazda, Winfield woman Penni Q. Freeborn, 59, was taken to an area hospital with moderate injuries.

Merkle was not reported as injured.

All people listed in the report were noted as wearing a seatbelt when the crash happened.

The two vehicles were extensively damaged in the collision.
