29-year-old man killed in high-speed rollover crash in Earth City

EARTH CITY, MO (ST. LOUIS COUNTY) – A 29-year-old man was killed early this morning in a rollover accident reportedly related to speeding, located northwest of St. Louis.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident happened in Earth City, located about 7 miles north of Creve Coeur, on eastbound I-70 near the Blanchette Bridge at about 12:45 a.m.

The victim, 29-year-old Mohanad A. Meqbil, of St. Louis, was reportedly driving too fast for conditions when he lost control of his 2019 Toyota Camry. The vehicle went off the left side of the highway and collided with a median before rolling over an unspecified number of times.

Meqbil was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:01 a.m.

He was reportedly not wearing his seatbelt when the accident occurred.

No other injuries were reported in the crash.
