29-year-old driver sustains injuries in rear-end crash on I-270

HAZELWOOD, MO – A 29-year-old Florissant driver was injured in a rear-end crash on westbound I-270 on Monday afternoon.

Brittany C. Cook was traveling westbound on I-270 in a 2015 Hyundai Elantra when she failed to switch lanes due to a crash ahead and abruptly stopped, police report. A 2017 Ford F-150, driven by 21-year-old Aliyah R. Brooks, was unable to stop or switch lanes and rear-ended the Hyundai. The crash happened east of the James S. McDonnell Boulevard exit (23) around 4:55 p.m.

Cook was transported to SSM Health DePaul Hospital for minor injuries.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts.

The Hyundai and Ford sustained minor damages.
