26-year-old fatally struck by car while walking on I-55 in East St. Louis

EAST ST. LOUIS, IL – A 26-year-old man walking in the left lane of I-55 was struck and killed by a driver in East St. Louis on Thanksgiving night, according to a report by LCBC Radio.
The accident happened on northbound I-55 just after 9:10 p.m. when the driver of a 2015 Hyundai Elantra, 22-year-old Mykel L. Winters, collided with 26-year-old Miguel Magana-Angel, of St. Louis.
Magana-Angel died at the scene.
Winters, of Hanover Park, Illinois, reportedly refused treatment at the scene.
The accident remains under investigation at this time.
