22-year-old man injured in Lincoln County accident

TROY, MO – A 22-year-old man sustained moderate injuries in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of US-61 and Highway KK on Monday afternoon.

Police report Ellen D. Guevara, 80, was traveling southbound on US-61 in a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado when a 2010 Honda Civic, driven by 42-year-old Jose A. Pineda, entered the crossover on westbound Highway KK. The Chevrolet struck the side of the Honda.

A passenger in the Honda, 22-year-old Anner N. Rivera-Diaz, was transported to SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital Lake St. Louis for moderate injuries.

Neither driver sustained injuries in the crash.

Guevara was wearing a seat belt, but it is unknown if Pineda or Rivera-Diaz were wearing their seat belts.

The Honda was totaled and the Chevrolet sustained moderate damages in the crash.

Investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
