21-year-old passenger injured in three-vehicle crash on I-64

CHESTERFIELD, MO – A 21-year-old Dardenne Prairie woman was injured in a three-vehicle crash on westbound I-64 on Monday morning.

Missouri State Highway Patrol reports 55-year-old Michael G. Corley was traveling west on I-64 in a semi and was straddling the left shoulder and left lane due to road work ahead. Theresa K. Mattingly, 22, was traveling in the left lane in a 2019 Acura RDX. She failed to stop in time for the semi ahead and rear-ended it. The impact caused the Acura to spin across multiple lanes and collided with a 2013 Chevrolet Spark, driven by 25-year-old Carolina E. Adams. MSHP reports the crash happened east of Long Road around 10:28 a.m.

Abigail M. Adams, a passenger in the Chevrolet, was transported to Mercy Hospital St. Louis for moderate injuries.

All drivers and Adams were wearing seat belts.

Both the Acura and the Chevrolet were totaled. The semi sustained moderate damages.
