21-year-old driver injured after crashing into utility pole

JEFFERSON COUNTY, MO – A 21-year-old High Ridge man was injured after he crashed into a utility pole on Rock Creek Road early Wednesday morning.

According to Missouri State Highway Patrol, Joseph M. Zink was traveling westbound on Rock Creek Road east of Kreienheder Drive in a 2007 Ford Focus. He traveled off the left side of the road and struck a utility pole around 1:10 a.m.

Zink was transported to SSM Health St. Claire Hospital for minor injuries. He was wearing a seat belt.

The Ford sustained moderate damages.

It is unclear why Zink traveled off the road.
