2 injured when car runs off Jefferson Co. road, hits multiple trees

JEFFERSON CO., MO – Two people were injured last night when their vehicle ran off a road near Hillsboro and collided with several trees.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol was on the scene of the accident on Stone House Road near Route Y by 9:50 p.m. yesterday. The responding trooper determined that Heather Norton had lost control of the 2003 Chevrolet S-10 she was driving while attempting to navigate a turn. The pickup consequently ran off the right side of the roadway and struck a tree before spinning into a second tree.

Norton, 35, suffered serious injuries, while a 37-year-old male passenger suffered minor injuries. Both were taken to Mercy Hospital St. Louis for treatment.
