19-year-old hurt in rear-end crash near Lebanon

LEBANON, MO (LACLEDE COUNTY) – A 19-year-old was injured this afternoon in a rear-end collision in Laclede County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The accident happened around 12:30 p.m. on Highway 5, six miles south of Lebanon, when a 2013 Chevrolet Cruze slowed down in traffic.

The driver of a 2007 Pontiac Torrent, 82-year-old Bessie I. Schwanderlik, did not notice that the Cruze was slowing. The Torrent collided with the rear end of the Cruze.

The Cruze’s driver, 19-year-old Arizona N. Roberts, of Lebanon, was taken to a local hospital with moderate injuries.

Schwanderlik is not reported as injured.

Both drivers were wearing a seatbelt when the crash occurred.
