MINERAL POINT, MO – A 16-year-old driver was seriously injured after his 1989 Ford Mustang hit a tree at 11236 Stoney Point Road on Sunday afternoon.
According to Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 16-year-old male driver was traveling south on Stoney Point Road when his Mustang traveled off the right side of the road. The driver over-corrected causing the Mustang to travel off the left side of the road. MSHP reports the Mustang overturned and hit a tree around 2:24 p.m.
The 16-year-old Bonne Terre driver was transported to Washington County Memorial Hospital. He was wearing a seat belt.
Police report the Mustang was totaled.
