13-year-old girl crashes ATV, injures 3 passengers, including 8-year-old boy

FRENCH VILLAGE, MO (STE. GENEVIEVE COUNTY) – A 13-year-old girl driving an ATV led to an accident yesterday that injured three people, including an 8-year-old boy, according to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The accident happened just before 7 p.m. on Lakeview Road, east of Ocelot Drive.

An unnamed 13-year-old juvenile girl from Imperial was driving a 2020 Polaris Pioneer ATV when the vehicle was unable to make a left turn and ran off the road. The driver overcorrected the ATV back onto the road, and it then turned over onto its side.

The other two victims are Pleasant Hill woman Aracelis Hutchings, 41, and Imperial woman Jennifer L. Bell, 44. The two women reportedly experienced minor injuries and were taken to Mercy South hospital by ground ambulance.

The driver of the ATV is not reported as injured.

The Polaris received minor damage in the accident and was driven from the scene.
