13-year-old boy hurt in early-morning accident in Perry County

PERRY COUNTY, MO – A 13-year-old boy was hurt during a two-vehicle accident in Perry County early this morning, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The accident occurred on I-55 northbound, near the 123 mile marker and about 2 miles north of Biehle, at 1:43 a.m., when a 17-year-old boy from Jackson, operating a 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier, lost control of his vehicle.

The Cavalier swerved, then came to a stop in the center of the road. It was struck by a 2016 Chevrolet Colorado, driven by 29-year-old Perryville man Cody J. Comte.

A passenger in the Cavalier, 13-year-old boy from Jackson, was taken to the hospital for the treatment of minor injuries. He and both drivers were wearing a seatbelt when the crash occurred.
