On August 9, 2006, Michael Poahway was working as a highway worker when he was struck and killed by a car driven by Edward Snodgrass. Five hours after striking and killing Mr. Poahway, Snodgrass’ blood alcohol content exceeded the legal limit. Mr. Poahway is survived by his wife, Lucinda Poahway, the Mrs. Oklahoma for 2006, and four adult children. The case against Snodgrass settled for the applicable policy limits of $1,250,00. This is a partial settlement, as the Plaintiffs are prosecuting a dram shop claim against the two bar owners who served alcohol to Snodgrass in the hours before the accident
