Labor Day Enforcement Crackdown in Missouri
Posted By St. Louis Personal Injury Attorney on Sep 5, 2011 8:05pm PDT
Individuals and families from across Missouri took advantage of the three-day weekend this Labor Day. However, while Missouri residents were enjoying the holiday, the Missouri State Highway Patrol was out in full force. During peak times on Friday and Monday, there was a trooper assigned every twenty miles on the I-44. Operation C.A.R.E. (Combined Accident Reduction Effort) is designed to prevent injuries from car accidents,
motorcycle accidents, and
truck accidents. In 2010, Labor Day weekend had a total of 1,052
motor vehicle accidents occur, killing 9 and injuring 515. There was 190 driving under the influence arrests. This is why Missouri's law enforcement was patrolling our highways looking for speed limit and seat belt violators as well as
drunk drivers. We have yet to see if this crackdown decreased the accident toll this year.
