Authorities are working to uncover the circumstances surrounding the accidental drowning of a six-year-old boy that occurred in Jacksonville, FL on Wednesday, August 17th. After hours of searching, the boy was found at the bottom of a neighbor's pool, but efforts to revive him were unsuccessful.
Inquiries have arisen as to where the responsibility lies for the pool drowning. Not only were there were no locks on the fenced-in pool, but the wheelchair-bound mother's ability to properly care for her children has been called into question. Accidental drowning is a leading cause of death for children aged one to four and therefore preventative measures must be taken to protect young children.
